Remembering Pastor Geofrey Mercy Kasozi

PASTOR GEOFREY MERCY KASOZI

Remembering Pastor Geofrey Mercy Kasozi
It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the death of the music pastor at PAG Bombo Church, Geofrey Mercy Kasozi. Geofrey passed away on January 23 after a brief battle with stomach cancer. He was 32. Geofrey will be remembered as the heart of worship at the church. Millie writes:

He was greatly loved for believing in everyone, and bringing the best out of them musically. He helped put together all our Easter and Christmas productions. Geofrey became popular for his singing skill, and was often called upon by other churches in the community to help better their worship teams. Pastor Kasozi also taught music at Donela High School, and conducted chapel times for our children, flavouring it with lively songs that made chapel the most loved activity in the school - this made him the hero of many of the students. He was in charge of preparing our Life Home Village Choir, leading them to excel. Pastor Kasozi was the most humble and patient lover of people. Yet at the same time he commanded the decisive and firm spirit required of a leader. Geofrey was free of prejudice, and the most objective rational leader we know.

We ask for a covering of prayer over Bombo as they grieve the loss of this very beloved and vibrant member of their community.

Our hearts are also breaking for Priscilla - Geofrey's wife since November 2023. While dealing with profound grief at the loss of her husband, she learned that her position at a local hospital is under a salary freeze. Hence, not only is Priscilla without her husband's salary but her own salary as well.

All of us at Align would like to support Priscilla through this time of tremendous loss. Many of you may have watched her sing in the choir on Sunday with Geofrey or served with her during a medical mission. Her commitment to living out her faith is clearly evident as she has done so much good for the Bombo community.

We are looking to raise $2,000* to financially support Priscilla over the next few months as she navigates her way forward.
