THANK YOU from Priscilla Kasozi and Millie Akello
We want to thank all of you who contributed to help Priscilla make ends meet after the passing of her husband Pastor Geoffrey Kasozi and losing her job in January. Millie Ojera reports: "Priscilla volunteered with our Life Medical Center during the time she lost her job. We bless God that her former workplace called back a few people to work, and she is one of them!! She is asking them if they can allow her to continue volunteering with our Life Medical Center on Fridays - we are waiting to see if it will be possible. She feels thoroughly loved, and wants to give God back as much as she can for the love being extended to her. She has enrolled for a theology program with the church. And she has found the strength to sing again in the choir." Priscilla writes: "I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the entire Align family for allowing God to use you through your prayers, comfort, love and financial support rendered to me especially during the time I lost my dear late husband, Pr. Kasozi Geofrey. I am eternally grateful, may the Lord keep you and richly bless the work of your hands."
AND you donated so much that we now have a small fund to help us support other Ugandan team members in need! We were able to provide a parting gift to a very valued staff, Millie Akello, who recently had to step down from her position as Life with Hope Sponsorship coordinator due to ongoing health issues. Millie A. writes: "As you all know, I stepped down from my role after nine incredible years. I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to each of you. It has been a true honor to work alongside such passionate individuals. Together, we have made a difference in the lives of many, and I will always cherish the memories we created. I am particularly touched by the thoughtful thank-you package you provided. It serves as a beautiful reminder of our shared mission and the wonderful times we've had together. Thank you once again for your support and understanding, as well as the lasting impact you’ve had on my life. I will always carry the spirit of Align with me."

Update on Donela School Enrollment
Thanks to all of you who prayed for enrollment at the Donela Schools as they began the new term in February. Enrollment is vitally important to ongoing sustainability as the Ugandan team reaches so many in their communities through the Schools. The Donela Schools also serve the local communities in a variety of ways, including providing jobs. As of last month, the Schools had a slightly higher enrollment than in 2024.
Millie notes that the enrollment fluctuates through the school year and it's not uncommon to receive new students in the second term. We are also hopeful that Wobulenzi will see an increase in enrollment once the community sees the new classroom block being finished. Please continue to pray that enrollment increases, especially at Donela Bombo and Donela Wobulenzi which have seen decreases from 2024.
Align Major Fundraisers
Align has historically held two major fundraisers which provide a good source of funding for our projects and programs. Our Dinkin' for da Kids pickleball tournament raises money to care for those who are still waiting for a sponsor under our Life with Hope program. Currently we have over 70 sponsorships needed to fully cover the costs of caring for those waiting for new sponsors. Our Gala of Hope events have provided funding for strategic projects, especially our capital ventures like Donela School construction. Below you will find details on each fundraiser, and ways that you can help.
ALIGN 4th ANNUAL DINKIN FOR DA KIDS PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT
Our 4th annual Dinkin for Da Kids mixed pickleball tournament will be held Saturday June 21, 2025 at the beautiful Palos Verdes Tennis Club at 3303 Via Campesina in Palos Verdes Estates. Please see the poster above for instructions on how to register and feel free to spread the word to your pickleball-playing friends! We can use donations for the raffles and live auction, as well as volunteers the day of the event. Just email Barbara at [email protected] for questions and more information.
FALL DINNERS WITH ALEX & MILLIE
This fall, in lieu of our annual Gala, we will hold smaller, more intimate events to allow for in-depth conversations between our supporters and the Ojeras. We believe it's vitally important for you to hear firsthand from Alex and Millie so you understand how your support enables the Uganda team to be the hands and feet of Jesus in their communities. To make this happen, we are reaching out to see if you would like to open your home to host one of these events. Please know that you will not be responsible for the set-up/clean-up, food, beverages, etc., as Align will cover all expenses and our event team will take care of the details.

Join Us in UGANDA
Joe and Barbara Jackson are planning their summer visit to Uganda and would LOVE for you to come along! You will be able to meet our Ugandan partners and their team, and see the work they do in their communities of Bombo, Wobulenzi and Kakooge. You will also visit the Donela schools and the Life Home Village. AND you will get the opportunity to interact with the children under Life with Hope sponsorship through organized activities. Sponsored Child of the Month
- Gloria Ujuki -
Gloria is 14 years old and in Primary 4 (4th grade). As her mother was unable to provide for her and her siblings, Gloria moved into the Life Homes and now has a safe place to grow. Since going back to school, She has been working hard to catch up with her peers, and is improving academically. Her favorite subjects are English and science, and she dreams of becoming a businesswoman or fashion designer. Gloria is in good health and is doing well emotionally. She loves to sing, dance, and draw with her friends. She needs sponsors so she can remain in the safety of the Life Home Village.
