Joel lost his father when he was young. He is now an orphan as his mother passed away from breast cancer in 2021. He initially struggled in school but has since received guidance and support from his staff and peers which has helped him turn his grades around. Joel is currently boarding at school and is in his third year (junior) at Donela High School in Bombo. Through lots of hard work, Joel is now doing well physically and emotionally, and is currently receiving counseling. He regularly attends PAG Kakooge church. Joel aspires to become a lawyer or a farmer, and has been praying for success in his studies so he can achieve those goals.
