Align Honors the Fathers in Our Homes & the Forefathers of our Country

Please join us as we continue to honor our dads. And we remember our forefathers and all they did on the 250th birthday of the United States of America on this 4th of July. We will always show respect to those who have done so much for our families and country!

Changes to the Life with Hope Sponsorship Program

Our focus at Align is to help our Ugandan partners achieve their mission "to provide godly, quality and affordable education that will equip this generation to transform our community and nation". We are proud of our Life With Hope sponsorship program as it has been one of the most effective ways to positively change the lives of children, training them to become like Jesus and to give back through loving those around them.

Align currently has only two young men up for sponsorship. Historically we have maintained a base of close to 200 children and HIV+ widows; currently we only have 168 due to attrition, mostly children who having successfully completed the program. After discussion with the Ugandan team, we have agreed to add new children to bring the number in our sponsorship program back to 200. We are excited to help our partners make a greater impact in their communities through our Life with Hope through these new additions!

Palos Verdes Tennis Center

We're mixing things up for this year's 5th annual Dinkin' for da Kids pickleball tournament by incorporating some Oktoberfest fun. Feel free to come dressed in your finest lederhosen or dirndl, and enjoy dinking and smashing at the Palos Verdes Tennis Club. Indulge in some bratwurst, pretzels and other goodies after a fabulous day of pickleball. We look forward to seeing you there!

** CALLING ALL DONORS **

We're seeking raffle and auction item donations for our upcoming pickleball tournament. Gift baskets, sports events and paraphernalia, experiences, services, merchandise, restaurant gift cards, and other unique items are all greatly appreciated and help us maximize our fundraising impact.

If you or your business would like to contribute a raffle or auction item, please reach out to Summer directly at [email protected] for donations in Orange County and Barbara at [email protected] or Hannah at [email protected] for the South Bay. These ladies will be happy to provide additional details and coordinate donation arrangements as needed. We thank you for your support and God bless!

Ojera Visit this Fall

According to the most recent CDC order, the U.S. Department of State has prohibited travel of all Ugandan citizens to the United States due to the recent Ebola outbreak in Uganda. And on Wednesday, French officials announced the country's first case of Ebola from this outbreak — a doctor who had traveled to Congo on a humanitarian mission. Align is working on ways to connect with Alex and Millie virtually should they be prevented from traveling due to the Ebola outbreak.

We ask that you pray for protection for our Ugandan partners, as well as a suspension of the order so that the Ojeras can join us this fall.

Patron Events in the South Bay

We are changing things up for this fall's fundraising events as well. We will be holding two dinners at H.T. Grill in Redondo Beach - one on Thursday October 29 at 6:00 pm and the other on Sunday November 1 at 5:30 pm. Details to follow. Please put the dates on your calendar now - email Hannah at [email protected] for more information or if you would like to attend. You won't want to miss hearing the latest on how God is moving in Central Uganda!

2026 Medical Mission

As mentioned above, there has recently been a Ebola epidemic identified in Central Uganda. We ask that you pray that our friends at Peninsula Community Church are permitted to hold their annual medical mission. Many patients come from long distances to receive treatment from the team - see photo below. The clinic is scheduled for August 30 - September 4.

Below is a photo of patients wrapped around the block, waiting to be seen at the Medical Mission.

P.S. Check out Progress on Donela High Dormitories!

The Ugandan construction team, lead by Deo Kabugo, has made substantial progress on the second dormitory for Donela High School. Check out the photos below!
